The pain is still there for Bacary Sagna, just three months on from his his brother Omar’s sad death. The 29-year-old died in his bath suddenly on February 12th, 2 days before Bacary’s 25th birthday.
I always think of him, every days. Nothing can replace a brother, he?ll always miss me.
I?m doing a job that I love, I earn a lot of money but nothing will be like before. It was destiny and you have to accept it, I don?t have choice. But I can?t accept it yet.? said Sagna.
Bacary was extremely pleased to be picked in the PFA Premier League Team Of The Year Award, and the Frenchman made no mistake in what his aims are for the near future.
?Be the best right back, it was my goal. I known it will be hard for a first season but I succeed. There?s more commitment, pace here. You can?t make mistakes and I love it.?
If Omar was still alive, he would have watched on to see his brother become the second choice right back in the French national team.
?I did my best to be in that list. Now, it?s up to Raymond Domenech. If he doesn?t choose me, it means he thinks I was not good enough. I would work more, harder, to be in the French squad after the Euro.? said Sagna
This season Bacary has come on leaps and bounds at the Emirates, an ankle injury sustained after he scored against Chelsea spoiled the end to his first season in English football. But it hasn’t stopped him being more optimistic for the new season at all.
?We had quality to win trophies but we failed in crucial moments. But we learned a lot, we will be stronger and mature the next season. We will be more hungry for titles..?

Likewise mate.
And I agree, Sagna is definitely a model professional and has proved that throughout last season.
